It's essential that we manage our water resources responsibly and sustainably to keep our environment and community healthy.

Integrated Water Management (IWM) is a collaborative approach we use at Brimbank to plan for and manage all our water assets.

Council's draft IWM Strategy provides a framework to manage our water assets. By considering the whole water cycle we can:

  1. Increase water security by using different water sources
  2. Increase urban resilience
  3. Improve the health of waterways and urban landscapes
  4. Reduce flood risks
  5. Strengthen governance and water education
  6. Improve water monitoring programs

The draft Strategy aligns with Victoria's IWM Forums, IWM Framework, and IWM Action Plans for Maribyrnong and Werribee Catchments.
