About the project
Cary Street, Sunshine North Nature Escape will be upgraded as part of Council’s annual Capital Works Program in conjunction with funding from Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning.
We're seeking feedback on the draft concept plan for Cary Street Nature Escape. Adjacent to the Stony Creek, Cary Street Nature Escape will encapsulate a green “oasis” with new extensive tree and shrub planting, exercise equipment, nature play and picnic facilities.
The site responds to the deficiency of open space in Sunshine North, and is endorsed by Council’s Walking and Cycling Strategy, Urban Forest Strategy and Biodiversity Strategy.
Since 2008, Council has upgraded 111 parks and invested $35 million transforming the park network through the continued implementation of Brimbank’s Creating Better Parks Policy and Plan (2016).
