Project updated - 30 September 2022

Consultation on this project has closed. Thank you to everyone who participated.

In May 2022, we asked for feedback on the upgrade of Odessa Avenue Reserve, Keilor Downs.

We did this through onsite in-person consultation, a letterbox drop and online.

Through these consultations we learned how you use the park, your priorities, and the key desired features and elements you’d like included in the upgrade.

What's in the draft concept plan

The draft concept plan aims to deliver a more efficient pedestrian access and circulation network by replacing existing paths with a circuit path accessible from all entrances and providing access to all amenities.

A fitness station is proposed along the circuit path.

Existing play ground will be replaced with new playground facilities which include a multi-play unit, swing sets, nature play elements and a flying fox.

Amenities around the play area include a shelter structure with picnic setting, BBQ unit, drinking water fountain and bicycle stands.

A dry creek bed is proposed, subject to project savings, to direct the overland run-off to the lower area of site to create a raingarden. Existing feature boulders will be re-used at the creek if it gets constructed.

Select trees will be removed to create an uninterrupted central grassed kick-about space.

Planting beds in and around the play area and trees along the periphery of the reserve (as well as the planting at the dry creek, if it gets constructed).

A new park sign will be installed at the Morcambe Crescent entrance and more bins will be added at the entrances.

Your feedback

We want to know if we got it right. We invite you to tell us what you think of the draft concept plan by completing this survey.
