We're planning to upgrade a section of William Street, St Albans.

We want this section of William Street opposite Biggs Street Reserve to be a greener, more attractive and pedestrian-friendly street.

What we propose to do

This is what we have proposed to include in the new William Street streetscape based on what we heard from the community:

• Include more greenery by planting new trees.
• Add new seats at shop fronts.
• Build a raised pedestrian crossing point to Biggs Street Reserve.
• New concrete paving to northern footpath.
• Keep as much of the car parking as possible.

The proposed design tries to balance more trees and greenery & pedestrian amenity while keeping existing parking.
