The park upgrade was due to start at 86 Cary Street, North Sunshine. During site investigations we found minor quantities of asbestos fragments. The asbestos levels pose a very low risk to human health.

Experienced contaminated soil remediation contractors will:

• wear personal protective equipment
• remove the affected soil
• track site conditions including air sampling
• maintain safety under the Environment Protection Authority and WorkSafe Victoria guidelines.

Clean fill will bring the site back to original ground level. Then topsoil added to provide a blank canvas for the park construction. We expect soil works to start late January 2022. Construction of the park will then follow.
